Adobe InDesign Classroom in a Book – Lesson 3
In this lesson of Adobe InDesign, we learn how to set up a document and also how to work with pages.
For this step, I follow the book instructions to set the document presets. First, I created the guide lines 4 Rows and 2 Columns and in the option panel I select Margins. Then I create the ruler guides (Cyan color).
Next, I created the text frame for the master page using the Type tool.
Next, I insert placeholder frames for text in both pages. Only in the 2 first rows.
Next, I added a placeholder frame for graphics at the top right row.
Next step, I created an additional master page. So now I have a-3-column and 2-column layouts.
In this step, I added a snippet file to my document (red boxes at the top). This file were located at the Lesson File.
I also applied the same process for the second master page (2-column layout).
In this step I change the size of the right page (Postcard size). I also apply a different master page layout.
In this step I changed the page numbering in the page panel by going to Pages menu>Numbering & Section Options>Choose i, ii, iii, iv > Ok.
Next, I placed text and graphics on document pages from the Lesson file. I place them into the different boxes I created before (2 for text and 2 for graphics).
Last step, I preview it in Preview Mode to hide the guide lines. This is the original form that would be printed.
